“Allusion to nudity”

Why do you think your post(s) was censored?

I have done some nude self-portraits with body painting. Despite the fact they don’t show any intimate parts or nipples, my Instagram profile has been shadowbanned since I posted that content.

Were you able to appeal and what was the response?

I emailed Instagram and reported the problem through the in-app assistance but never received any answer.

What effect has your experience of censorship had on you?

My account has been growing and my posts are no longer visible on hashtags. Additionally, I haven’t been able to run paid ads. As a freelancer and artist selling limited edition prints, this has had a huge impact on my professional growth.

What’s one thing you want people to know about this topic?

Our bodies are works of art that need to be celebrated, not feared.
