What reason was given for your ban?
Adult sexual solicitation.
Why do you think your post(s) was censored?
Nudity and perhaps the quote that I used for the caption.
I censored the photos and they were still removed, and the one they said was sexual solicitation is just beyond absurd. One was just last month and the others are from the past few years. My profile has never fully recovered or gained back the momentum that it was building the first time it was shadowed.
Were you able to appeal and what was the response?
I did, but got no reply.
What effect has your experience of censorship had on you?
It made me feel vilified and that I was being treated unfairly for being an artist.
It was as though they were taking my artistic voice away and that made me feel helpless because the platforms ignore you, even when you try to make amends.
What’s one thing you want people to know about this topic?
Social media is not the end all be all.
Speak your truth and make your art no matter who tries to silence or censor you.
