What reason was given for your ban?

I have never received a reason for my shadowban. (I don’t show up when people search for me until they type the full username).

Why do you think your post(s) was censored?

I create digitally manipulated content that gets re-shared as if it’s real, without the context of my username. A phenomenon referred to as “stolen satire”.

Were you able to appeal and what was the response?

The last post I appealed was making fun of the insurrectionists. I won that appeal since the post was flagged for promoting dangerous organizations.

What effect has your experience of censorship had on you?

Lower engagement and reach, thus fewer new followers and potential merch sales.

What’s one thing you want people to know about this topic?

Literally every creator I know, from meme-makers to comedians, is dealing with some sort of suppression from “the algorithm gods”.
