What reason was given for your ban?

There have been various reasons, I have been censored when publishing a picture of a painting from the Renaissance with a naked woman… or when posting an artwork mentioning words such as “no to racism”.

Why do you think your post(s) was censored?

Because their algorithm does not think and cannot tell the difference between a nude and a painting, a political group and an artwork.

Were you able to appeal and what was the response?

Yes and the decision was unchanged.

What effect has your experience of censorship had on you?

I feel like I cannot pursue my wish to educate as I have to self-censor hundreds of historically relevant artworks. I also have the feeling that talking about positive human values is considered a political statement and as if I was promoting hatred!

What’s one thing you want people to know about this topic?

We cannot let an algorithm censor culture and art which is publicly displayed in museums across the world.
