What reason was given for your ban?

Nudity.

Why do you think your post(s) was censored?

Because Instagram claims a stoma is a part of ‘Nudity’ and the same with my scar, they have started hiding disabled bodies or any Body that is not seen as typically ‘Beautiful’ by today’s standards.  For example, I don’t have a Kim K body therefore my scarred body is hidden and less important to Instagram. When in fact it’s as worthy as Kim’s.

Were you able to appeal and what was the response?

Yes – No reply.

What effect has your experience of censorship had on you?

It has prevented me from spreading as much awareness as I can – therefore some people aren’t seeing me and then think they are not worthy of showing their bodies.

What’s one thing you want people to know about this topic?

My body has the right as much as anybody else’s to be shown and appreciated.
