Absolutely no explanation at all.

Why do you think your post(s) was censored?

To stunt growth too quickly / encourage the promote feature on Instagram.

Were you able to appeal and what was the response?

I did – I sent an email with proof of different follower counts and never received any response.

What effect has your experience of censorship had on you?

It’s very frustrating when you are putting your heart and soul into projects. Essentially using social media as a business platform, to help with self-employed work, and gets hidden from followers, and potential new ones too.

What’s one thing you want people to know about this topic?

There is a high chance of getting shadowbanned as an artist, queer or not. Continue to make your content, in your way. The control from Instagram has nothing to do with how good or not your content is. It really needs to be recognised that it isn’t natural, it is favoured and Instagram / other social media platforms are controlling what of your content gets seen and what doesn’t.
