Nudity mostly, once for ‘soliciting sex work’

Why do you think your post(s) was censored?

I am one of the most published and exhibited lesbian photographers of the female nude. Even my tamest, most censored images get pulled.

Were you able to appeal and what was the response?

Yes. Several times the content was reposted., sometimes not.

What effect has your experience of censorship had on you?

Photography is my business and social media is my biggest platform. It has me constantly on pins and needles. I am fully cognizant of the restrictions. If anything, I over censor. I have never—not once—knowingly or intentionally violated social media rules.

What’s one thing you want people to know about this topic?

There is no question that heavy-handed censorship has a chilling effect on queer speech, thought and action. The algorithms are mindless and childish.
