What reason was given for your ban?

Nudity/ sexual activity.

Why do you think your post(s) was censored?

Either I got reported by someone, or the algorithm saw overlaying skin and directly marked it as sexual activity.  Even though the collages much less sexual than many other posts on Instagram (that mostly portray objectified and sexualized women bodies).

Were you able to appeal and what was the response?

Yes, it got deleted twice again, and then I got threatened that my account would be deleted.

What effect has your experience of censorship had on you?

I feel like getting less exposure (especially as a female artist photographing nudes), not having the chance to step foot into the art world.This is basically where art starts within my generation, yet only the male gaze seems to be freely accepted on this platform.

What’s one thing you want people to know about this topic?

That Instagram should not be the deciding factor on what is acceptable in society or not, and young people should know this and know their alternatives.
